WILDFLOWER

One of the things about being a mom that I find hard is worrying that I will forget.

My husband has the better memory between the two of us. He will remember silly things the girls said or did when they were babies, and I am just left scratching my head because I have no recollection of any of it. I can’t blame it on sleep deprivation, I just have a poor memory.  I want to be able to remember things. What they liked to play, what they found hilarious, the silly things they said, but it is all so fleeting and sometimes I feel like my mind is consumed with everyday things rather than the larger picture.

So I take photos and videos. Oh how I love looking at videos of them and marvel at how much they have grown in a few short years.  I cannot imagine my kids growing out of dress up and princesses and playgrounds and sprinklers. And I worry that when they do, it will be so gradual that I will forget all these beautiful memories and moments in our lives.

xoxo, Rashmi
