Red Barn Mercantile on 1117 King St. is one of my favourite stores in Old Town Alexandria.
Red Barn Mercantile is a superbly curated store. It makes you instantly feel welcome when you step inside. It doesn’t overload your senses and let’s your eye roam to the see all the various delights in every corner. Pillows, candles, toys, furniture, rugs, cards and a whole assortment of other things. By keeping the store white and bright and by having the items in shelves, it is easy to see everything and navigate the store.
Amy Rutherford, the owner of Red Barn Mercantile is warm and friendly (and a friend). She brought her vision of a old fashioned mercantile store with a thoroughly modern twist to life so beautifully. Even the branding is spot on. Thanks Amy for allowing me to make some photographs of your beautiful store.
